The Osmo Plus is the upgraded version of Osmo; the first handheld gimbal. With tis upgraded system, the Osmo Plus camera gives lossless image quality and it can zoom up to seven times without difficulty and comprising the quality of images. Its camera has a 3.5x optical in addition to 2x digital zoom which results to 22- 77mm focal length range and for a handheld camera, it’s pretty hefty.
The camera is also able to shoot 4K videos and you can choose either to maximize its zooming capabilities or shoot a very high resolution video. If you’re planning of recording videos in slow motion, Osmo Plus camera can record a 1080p video at 100fps while crisp still images will be produced with a 12- megapixel quality. It also uses an improved stabilizer to better record moving shots and subjects.
The Osmo Plus is compatible with DJI Go app both for Android and iOS which allows users stream and share videos and images online. Since action cameras are usually used in harsh condition or fast- paced environment, DJI has extended the warranty of Osmo Plus up to two years as well as unlimited maintenance and accidental damage repair. Users of Osmo Plus can avail the extended warranty for $65 only. Also, accessories for different purposes are available such as tripod, bike mount or extension rod.
Another great feature of Osmo Plus is the “motion time lapse” where users can choose a starting and ending position and the camera has to move in between. With this feature, the camera will record everything while moving and will provide a time lapse footage of the whole movement.
Lastly, just like its predecessor, Osmo Plus has a variety of frame rates such as NTSC and PAL for better compatibility to global market.
PROS:
– Better camera
– Zooming capabilities
